PROBLEM:
Opening Office 2007 documents Using NetStorage with Internet Explorer 7
Documents created in Office 2007 or saved as an Office 2007 document at school will not open properly when trying to download the file via NetStorage when you double-click on the file name. The file appears as a .zip file instead of a docx, xlsx, or pptx file name.
Even the file icon looks different from other documents. For example, the first file below is a .docx Office 2007 document. The second file is one created in Office 2003.

Note: This problem is not found when using the Firefox web browser.
FIX:
Method 1.
- DO NOT double-click the Office 2007 file in Netstorage
- DO click on the check box next to the file
- Go to File - Download. (See below.)
- Click on OPEN from the File Download window that appears.
- The file will download properly with the proper Office 2007 extension (.docx for Word, .xlsx for Excel., or .pptx for PowerPoint).

Or
Method 2.
- Double-click on the file name
- SAVE the file instead of clicking on the OPEN button from the File Download window that opens.
- Change the file name extension from .zip to .docx if it is a Word document, .xlsx for Excel, or .pptx for PowerPoint).
- The file you just saved will now open in Office 2007 properly.
- For example, the Office 2007 Word document, Test.zip, should be changed to Test.docx.
