Commemoration of Abraham Lincoln

The Schaumburg High School Social Studies Club, under the direction of Social Studies Teacher Mary Lopez, planned a week-long recognition commemorating the life and accomplishments of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president, on the 200th anniversary of his birth. While born in Kentucky, President Lincoln spent a great deal of his adult life in Illinois, and is considered a "native son" of the state.

At the February 12, 2009 Board of Education Meeting, Schaumburg High School Social Studies Club member read and presented the Board a Proclamation commemorating Mr. Lincoln.
